Eight employees of the TN Technology Center @ Crossville were recently honored for their years of service to the school. Faculty and staff attended the annual awards luncheon as Don Sadler, TTCC director, thanked each honoree for their dedication and presented them with a plaque and gift.
Honored for five years of service were Belinda Bumbalough, Practical Nursing instructor, Sparta; and Dwight Bridges, Maintenance, Crossville. Recognized for ten years of service were Joe Livesay, Welding instructor, Crossville; Ronnie Spivey, Maintenance, Crossville; Sue Spivey, Maintenance, Crossville. Barbara Thornhill, Student Services, Crossville was recognized for her 20 years of service. Kim Glass, Administrative Assistant, Crossville was honored for 25 years of service. Judy Higdon, Business Systems Technology instructor from Crossville was recognized for her 35 years of dedicated service.
The ‘2008 Faculty of the Year’ award was presented to Betty Parker, Computer Information Technology instructor from Monterey. Ms Parker was a dislocated worker when she enrolled in the TTCC computer program in 1999. In 2000 she was honored as “Outstanding Student of the Term”. After graduation, she joined the staff as a part-time instructor. This position later became a full-time position. In addition to teaching, Ms Parker and her students designed and maintain the school’s website at www.www.ttcc.edu, design and maintain the messages on the electronic sign at the front of the school, and serves on the newsletter committee.
When TTCC opened its doors in 1967, it offered six programs with 10 employees. Today it offers 15 day programs, 2 modified night programs, and over 30 part-time night/special industry courses to high school, post secondary, and industrial students. The Technology center is open weekdays from 7:30 to 4:00 for visitors and prospective students.
